As a place-based partnership serving Northwest Dayton’s Hope Zone, Omega Community Development Corporation (Omega CDC) works across cradle-to-career and community development initiatives to support children, families, and residents through coordinated, community-centered services.

As the organization continued to grow, leadership recognized the need to strengthen the internal systems that support staff alignment, performance, and long-term organizational effectiveness. Through its participation in Catalyst Exchange’s Talent Well initiative, Omega CDC is investing in foundational talent infrastructure designed to create a more consistent and supportive employee experience across the organization.

A Foundation for Long-Term Growth

A Talent Capacity Diagnostic conducted through Talent Well highlighted both Omega CDC’s strong culture and opportunities to formalize talent practices across the employee lifecycle. At the same time, the organization was expanding its internal HR capacity, including hiring its first in-house HR professional. Together, these efforts created an important opportunity to build systems that could better support both staff experience and organizational sustainability.

To help advance this work, Omega CDC partnered with Edgility Talent Partners to design and implement a more integrated performance management and onboarding approach. The project includes structured goal-setting and feedback processes, onboarding tools and templates, and implementation support through training and coaching.

Importantly, the work is grounded in collaboration and long-term sustainability. Staff across the organization are helping shape the systems and practices being developed, ensuring the work reflects Omega CDC’s culture, values, and operational realities.

Early progress has already contributed to the introduction of new systems and practices aligned with key organizational priorities. More broadly, the work represents a critical investment in the infrastructure needed to support staff, strengthen alignment across programs, and sustain community impact over time.

As Omega CDC continues serving Northwest Dayton, these efforts position the organization to operate with greater clarity, consistency, and cohesion — strengthening the foundation needed to support both employees and the communities they serve.
