Jamar Knox

Before joining Catalyst Exchange, Jamar served as a fractional CFO, advising nonprofit organizations on financial and operational strategies to strengthen their infrastructure and sustainability. He was also Senior Director of Finance and Operations at Chiefs for Change, where he led audit and budget preparation efforts, revenue diversification, fund accounting, grant reporting, and reserve fund investment. His experience includes finance roles at Shine (formerly Teen Success) and New Profit, where he developed expertise in nonprofit financial management and strategic growth.

Passionate about empowering mission-driven organizations, Jamar finds joy in demystifying complex financial concepts and equipping his colleagues with the knowledge to make confident financial decisions.

Originally from Jackson, Tenn., Jamar resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his amazing spouse and two children. He enjoys baseball, traveling, and experimenting in the kitchen. He currently serves as an appointed board member of ISTE + ASCD. Jamar holds a bachelor’s degree in humanities with an emphasis on German literature and a minor in management from Brigham Young University.
